Demolish, Rebuild

dezhonest: "As indicated by the title, the vocal sample in this instrumental is saying 'Demolish, Rebuild'. The phrase is a realization of needed change--in either the surroundings or the mindset."

A World Anew

|
|
||
dezhonest: "One thing this instrumental represents is the observation of a process. A change. A slow and mysterious (but graceful) change like a sunrise or a change of season. A shift that is beautiful but not quite understood... until observed."

dezhonest: "This instrumental birthed one of the styles I've come to develop over time. It represents a deeply concentrated conscience--at the moment--unaware of the world around it; trailing into a mental vault never before opened."

dezhonest: "This instrumental represents the excitement of trying something new. Something mysterious, something sensuous, something unforgettable, or even all three!"

Ghost Winds

dezhonest: "This instrumental was mainly inspired by summer nights in rural areas when the moon was full and the breezes were slight. (My apologies for the rhyme, but that's what it means to me!) It is also inspired by cold, quiet nights after snow storms. Yes, I do a lot of observing when I'm outside. And the feelings I would get from walks on these nights could range from a peaceful admiration of a beautiful night to a restless and empty desire for company. I attempted to present that range of emotion in one instrumental."

We were born
On a lightning storm
Oh we were born
On a lightning storm
dezhonest: "The intro portion of this instrumental embodies the first phases of a thunderstorm--clouds approaching, lightning flashes, rain, wind blowing. The rest of the instrumental represents the development of an idea. Taking something simple and exercising all the known possibilities of its form. Knowing that some things won't work the first time and mistakes will be made along the way. But also understanding that you'll know what you were looking for once you've formed (or found it). And that, many times, is the purpose of seclusion."

dezhonest: "This instrumental was envisioned as a journey to a mountaintop. Like a real.. long.. hike. But for good reason. The change in instrumentation signifies new location. The drops and returns of the percussion represent the hiker's persistence (or hesitation) to go further."

dezhonest: "As implied by the title, this recording is split into three sections: 'Hear Me Out', 'Jericho', and 'Living In Rome'. I recorded this two days after my apartment was broken into that October and just really needed a way of responding to it in a non-violent manner."
